This past Saturday my buddy Jake and I made the trek out to DVL. We started on the left side of the boat launch but didnt get any love. After awhile we hiked over to the right side of the boat launch and thats when shit started poppin! Throughout the day Jake pulled in 3 largemouth (the largest was 4.5 lbs) all on plastic creature baits. The LMB wanted nothing to do with me or anything that I was throwing at them. So for shits and giggles I carolina rigged a Gulp garlic nightcrawler, tossed it out and continued the quest for a bass. About 10 minutes later I see my nightcrawler pole double over and after an exhilarating 5 minute fight I brought up this beautiful 7lb 11oz catfish! The wind started getting pretty gnarly so we packed it up around 4:30. Great fucking day! Cheers! :smoking33:

That cat fish is number 2 for you at DVL! Last one was a lot bigger but I guess a 7 pound 11 ounce will do lol. Next time we go we will get on the LMB bite. I nailed those three so there is no reason why we couldn't have pulled more. We shore fish so we need to not get held down in one spot for to long and just fucking flip and pitch all submerged objects. DVL is up to the highest point I have ever seen it, lots of new cover now. Ox blood creature baits on a 7 foot 4 medium heavy rod 7.1.1 gear baitcast with 25 pound braid and 12 pound flurocarbon leader joined with a blood knot. I know braid sounds crazy but it worked like a charm around all that heavy cover.
