It can be used by the physically challenged to fish the canyons above 450' for those big rockfish. Plus it's exciting to find out what's down there. In the old days I would pull sablefish out of the LJ canyon. I did not have a depth finder at the time that went over 250 ft.. I'm guessing it was around 800'. Can not legally do that today.

If you buy it and do not like it, I'll take it back and refund your cash.

I used this reel years ago to fish the deepwaters of socal (+1000') before the bunny huggers closed down the deep waters for bottom fish to fishermen. It's missing the attachment to connect the reel to the gunnel. It has a switch to wind up or down. Powerful and heavy-duty 12vdc motor by Deep Drop Reels (out of business). I paid around $700 for it back in the 90s. Could be repurposed for swordies or other legal deep dwellers. Cleaning out the garage. PM me if interested. Pickup only.
