Finally got to go fishing this past Thursday night with friend Bob. Had a very successful evening catching all sorts of bottom fishes but only one Onaga. Lots of Ehu and Hogos. Does anyone out there know much about Aweoweo's. Caught a good size one about 100 fathoms down and it was one of the most beautiful fishes I've ever seen. Need your input.

Here's wishing that all of you and your families have a very Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Years.

Very nice. I've always thought of aweoweo as being a surface feeder in relatively shallow water -- mostly 30 to 120 feet. You caught that one at 100 fathoms? Wow! I wonder if that's the same species of aweoweo that we catch in-shore?

Not the same aweoweo you catch in shore different species of fish. They get a lot larger then in pic. Have got them in 200 fathoms. Still a great catch just not an aweoweo.
