Between the 101 and the 425 - tons of nice kelps with one MONSTER that had tuna and dorado under it. But tuna being tuna, couldn't get them to take a hooked bait - which wasn't a problem with the dorado that charged the boat. Ended up limiting pretty quickly on better grade fish.

Pointed the bow west, and shortly thereafter found a large school of porpoise below the 425. They were doing the right thing and it didn't take long to limit on 10-15 pound tuna.

It was really nice early this morning, with hardly any wind/swell and sunny warm. The wind picked up later in the morning and made for a bumpy ride back to the barn.

    Should be an interesting weekend...

    Nice trip Ron.

Man, you guys are killing me! I finally buy a boat that is tuna capable, but the time to rig it and make it seaworthy is just going to be long enough to miss the bite.

Not going to rush though—and not going to take a one battery, no VHF boat offshore. There’s always bass and real fish next season.

The ICOM 506 with AIS arrived today.

Did you call in the bite over the radio today? 32.11x117.24? We were going to run over to you, but our bait was dead (long story). We found another huge paddy at 32.19x117.26, but couldn’t get any to go on lures. One skippy for us today. Lots of life on the 439, but no love for us on troll fish. Way to get down there and find some fish!!
