I'm thinking of heading out tomorrow. Seeing if anyone has an opinion on the timing as well as whether I should launch from Shelter Island or Oceanside Hardbor? I've honestly never had luck out of Oceanside but don't see many reports in the last couple weeks for anything 20+ miles out from anywhere

SI is closed, try gloretia bay on Coronado. Get there early or parking is questionable.

I was thinking the same thing. SSTs have held up remarkably well with this constant wind. I have high confidence there are YFT within 30 miles of Oceanside. Probably at 100 feet under the dolphin school... question is will you be able to convince them to come up
