Fished Dana Point today for halibut with my dad and son. Thank you again to the person that gave me some info on where to fish. You know who you are. Greatly appreciated.

Started the day with a couple of smoothhounds, and some lizard fish early, with a handful of raked baits from the right kind mixed in. Finally got the bite we were looking for around 11:00 and put my personal best halibut on the deck. 34 pounds. Caught on a 'dine in about 115 feet of water north of the harbor.

That tail looks pretty wide next to the trailer tire.
    May I ask the length?
    Thanks

Great fish!! Glad you made it happen. Couldn't make it work for my son and I today, but he had one nice opportunity that came off. See you out there!

I was out with my family heard you guys screaming from a 1/2 mile away lol.

About a dozen boats out there you were the only boat I saw land a fish. Bait wasn't nearly as thick as it's been.

    Congrats guys! Nice one!
