The weather has been really nice this week so I wanted to take the girlfriend hooping again before the seasons over.

It was a beautiful evening and sunset. Fished a rock off SC pier for an hour and caught a couple of Sandies. We set up at dusk and dropped a few nets. Brought some mini wine bottles for my girl, suited her up and a life jacket and had a fun time drifting around till we could retrieve the hoops.

It was a slow pick on the STER and we captured at least 5 that were a credit card thickness short of clearing the end of the carapace. ( I have returned to DP and had an agree Sheriff from HP re-measure the marginal catches with my gauge and jamb the metal into the horns, thus crushing the cartilage and causing them to be a 1/4" shorter ). SO I DON"T TAKE MARGINALS.

Skiff count - 2 bass and 2 STER = dinner.

Debbie video taped a few clips of the night, I made a quick video about a minute long with three scenes. The last video shows her reaction to tossing back food. What a fun night!

BTW - I bought two TAC lanterns you see advertise on TV. They are small and bomb out the light. Very pleased. They take three weeks to receive though.

    Good luck out there!!!

:-):-)Nice! Great way to spend a Friday evening. You should marry a girl that wants to go fishing on a Friday night. Just saying..... :-)

Right on, great little night on the water. That is the right way to measure them BTW. Lotsa of people get caught up on that one.

Man, that's a great quick trip with the girl!

    Way to go!

X2 about throwing close shorts back in the drink.

I'm on the fence about marrying a girl that likes to fish cause I'm married to one.

You heard to pros in the comments above. The cons are: my wife's gear are nicer than mine. She always in my face when she is out-fishing me. I hate it when she hooks up a fresh one and then turns to me and ask " do you wanna reel this one in honey?"

Thanks for all the great comments above!!!

    That is hysterical!

Could be true. One of the best fisherman I ever knew went on our charter every
month to SCI. She would out fish everyone. Here name was Julie.( I think she has a plant business now called Jungle Julie).

    Mine girl can't, YET.
