Hey fellow bd, I got a few questions. I'm looking for a bait/small iron set up for half day and three quarter day trips for yellow, calico, and cudas. So I narrowed it down to a the new daiwa sealines or a torium. so should I get a sealine 30 or should I get a torium 16? Also i need a stick to go with it. so I was looking at the oceanic series kencor or a classic series seeker. Last question is if I wanted to invest in spectra, what brand should I get and how much is it. I would probably purchase it in Squidco because that my store. Thanks for your replies.

You would really like the torium on a kencor pacific series rod. I have several of those rods and they work great. I was catching albacore with a trinidad 20 on a pacific series just friday. So the pairing works great. I would suggest putting the rod and reel combos together at the store to see what feels most comfortable, that is most important.

How much are you looking to spend for your whole setup?

Slx30 on seeker 270h good for #20 and if you want #25.
Make a great bait/jig outfit that will cast a mile!

*got my one and only legal wsb (35 pounder) on that exact outfit.

Get a saltist 30 and spectra back it w/ a 30 lb topshot and get a seeker rod. That setup is golden, and will catch you a ton of fish.

I don't want to spend more than $300.

You won't with a torium and a pacific series.
