Does anyone know the current bite conditions in and outside of Bay of LA? I am heading down in two weeks and was hoping to get a shot at some dorado.

fishing was real slow for us today, we went south, only got 2 yellows til noon, then when behind horsehead island & got about 6 to 7 from 12:30ish to 2. all about 10ot 15lbs, with 1 at 20ish. we caught more cabrilla than yellows. tomorrow we"re headed to back side La gruadia if weather permits. Alfonso daggett did very good there today.

Thanks Derek. I was gonna fish Sq this week but it seems fishing has been slow all year there with no signs of improvement. I may head to bola instead but I don't like the extreme heat this time of year. How's the wind and weather?

it's very warm, but not that hot to bola standers. last year it was alot hotter at this time. the wind is up & down. very little in the morning & gets more as the day goes on. then dies down as we cook dinner on the BBQ. you can't ask for a better place to be.

Noslow64, i think i may have meet you sat morning at during breakfast chatting about the bites and your drive/ earlier trailer troubles. Anyways if it is you i belive you also took a diesel dodge. Im in tecate right now almost home but i had to chase down 20 g of diesel all the way down the main highway using someone's car since i was foolishly on empty. Diesel pump at station is/was out as of sat night yestersay. Took 4 hours out of my relax and clean day to get situated. Not to mention truck driver got me good for like 8$ a gal. Still beats being late to work after 10 days off. Good luck.

Our group is headed down July 30th for a week. Always enjoy reading the reports about what's going on. We're pulling down our own boats (3) and staying at Raquel and Larry's. Can't wait to get on the water. Maybe we'll run into each other, that would be fun. We have Ford F-150s pulling a CC Trophy and a cuddy cabin Trophy. The third boat is a tin Baja Runner. This is the first BOLA trip for 3 of our group, the others have been there many times. Going to be a kick for the first timers. Be safe on the road....

If there is still no diesel in town Try Oso or Martin in town. They usually has some diesel laying around. It will be pricey but better than nothing. Oso is igor's good friend and Martin is the guy driving the loader and big dump bed truck in town. Be nice and they always help. But like I said it will be pricey. $100 for 50 liters. Ouch... but it will get you to El rosario or gonzaga.

today was a great day on the water, hardly no wind & water was not flat, but damn close to it. made bait in 30 minutes & motored to back side of big island. we were done fishing at 830. almost every drop landed a yellow & I pulled up a 34 lb"der. I'm driving home tomorrow & will post pics

Thanks for "saving" all the Dodos for us D! We'll be down later this week to clean up the mess you left for us. LOL. Can't wait to see those islands from the top of the mountain and roll down into town.

Heading down August 5th through the 13th. Is it necessary to make hotel reservations or is it pretty open?
