Hey Everyone,
I like to create my own wahoo jigs but I am having a hard time finding the heads I normally use. As I have no tackle stores around me...anyone know where I can get heads like this? Yeah, I know you can use torpedo sinkers but I like the heads the line slides through. Any help would be great. I'd guess its 3-4 ounces.

I like a 4oz egg sinker. Used it almost 20 years ago out of desperation because I ran out of the heads I brought. It was good enough to fool a 124 lb hoo on that trip. I haven't seen a need to change.

I do think a torpedo will work just fine. Old school, torpedo with a potato chip bag and hook.

I was looking at E-bay, dreaming, and found these two sites. The guy with the Marin stuff has all sizes (search Tady Fishing).

This one was on a Wahoo fishing search.

These are not turned with an end that would prevent the Mylar from sliding off, but they could be. The first photo is a four ounce egg sinker turned.

The second photo is both 4 ounce and a 6 ounce egg sinkers.

The last photo shows that the head cab be shaped from the above photos nicely.

A rounded ridge could be left at the tail end of the lead head to retain mylar skirt material. Theoretically I have a contact making me a mold to make roughly 4 ounce lead heads with the turned shape from molten lead.
