Check out this fishing video (caution: LARGE file).

    http://www2.osk.3web.ne.jp/~sevense/Graphic/MPEG/Cyuuk_2002_9.mpg

These guys are kicking large tuna ass on large spinners with parabolic rods.

A couple of comments: these guys pump their jigs like CRAZY. I'd have to start working out to fish like these guys do. I also noticed that they lose ALOT of fish. Looks to me like they have a habit of letting the line go slack when they are dropping the rod. Seems like they need to work on their technique :D

Holy shit dude, seeing those dudes wind in those coffee grinders and get anhilated while on the grind, OMG !!!!! Jeez, that one dude got hooked up right when he put the reel in gear and he got rode like there was no tomorrow !!!! That was pretty epic for spinning reels. Damn, I like how calm it was where they were at too. I wanna go on a trip like that so bad. Wish I had the funds.

That's when he is working the jig, when they're fighting the fish you can definitely tell.

Yeah, but one guy in particular was doing the same thing when hehad a fish on. He definitely wasn't keeping pressure on the fish when he was pumping it.

Yeah, but it does show what coffeegrinders can do. No, not the best tools for the job, but they'll gitterdun if the angler knows what he's doin'.

The boyz DownUnder have the grinder skills, too. Shore fishing for Snapper, Trevalley & other species the long rod & grinder are the weapons of choice.

When we were gettin' the pinhead baits lots of guys were threatenin' to bring along a grinder outfit... :D

Oh yeah... the "jerk & thrust" method isn't limited to grinder jockeys. Just watch any fishing show.

Those weren't just any coffee grinders either...Shimano Stellas. 14 or 15 ball bearings in those suckers and a waterproof drag system...built for heavy saltwater fishing...if you got the bank they are great. Wouldn't want to try it with a Master Combo though.
