Best way to get rid of problem yotes.... Kill one or two of them and hang the carcass in a tree on the edge of your property. Coyotes will stay away. We used to have a serious problem with them on my property. Hung a couple up in the trees and they have all but disappeared.

    This works well

Years ago some family friends with a ranch in NE Oregon had consistent problems with them critters killing just about everything that walked, day or night, except their dogs, (Dingos-Blue Heelers I think they call them, all ranchers had them).

A local old timer told them to go out and harvest as many as they could and spread them out onto a perimeter that you don't wan't them to come past.

    It worked great.

They would normally have to do it once a year during the Yote new pup, (what the hell do you call a baby yote?), season but it worked for the rest of the season, it just stank to high hell for a while if you ever got close to one.

That didn't work at my house. I shot one a couple weeks ago and tossed it just over the back fence. I've had more come back and take off with the head from my elk. I was curious if they'd eat their buddy but apparently not.

I thought about using a 22 to keep the noise down but opted for the AR. That 'yote was the first thing I've shot with Vmax bullets and they sure do make a mess on a Texas heart shot on an escaping coyote!

Ya have to hang them up. Kinda like a scarecrow, lol. Throwing em on the ground does not work.

This is reality ... my dogs are very well behaved unless the kill button is pressed... anything that is not a dog (except bulldogs)or a person is on the list.. goats, pigs, sheep it makes no difference with seals #1 on the list.. even tries to grab horses by the neck...( cops didn't like that)...
Other animals seem to know that messing with him is just not worth it..
My friends call him the honey badger...
If they have access to wildlife they rarely die of natural causes..
