Which are more productive the 16 or 32 oz.? Is there a big difference in brands - Ballyhood, Mag Bay, or any other mfg.?

The ones I’ve seen that are used are the 16 ounce. I bought the Mag Bay knockoff but haven’t used it. The Ballyhood seems to have a shinier head.

I used both a Green & a Pink 16oz Ballyhood with success on recent 10 day. Caught several wahoo and hooked a Striped marlin. They survived multiple wahoo bites. Saw lots of 1 & done Nomads. Cowbells keep on working.

I use the 32 oz. Wahoo don't seem too shy on hitting it. Double hook rig holds them good. Only recall one coming off since I started trolling it

Saw a nomad account for 20 wahoo on my last trip a couple weeks ago, not much paint left, but still swimming and catching fish.

Both the 32 and 16 work well!

I have never even seen 20 rotations. Btw, noticed a token skinfish at lupe, well done

Not to thread jack but I would imagine anglers would like to know how it was rigged here or on another post :) maybe bump the trolling thread

    From the MagBay site...
"“Cowbell Fishing Lure” is a registered trademark of Ballyhood Topgun Lures. MagBay Lures is not associated nor selling Ballyhood Topgun Lures products."

Speaks volumes and that means they're just ripoffs...nuff said about that!
Seems to go with the territory.
Oh! except they're the same price?

Wasn't 20 complete rotations of all trolling teams combined, 5 trolling teams of 4, each team had at least 6 opportunities to troll for wahoo. About half way through it was 100% Dtx minnows in the rotation. They worked extremely well, I could have trolled anything I wanted. But they got hammered with many rotations having all 4 anglers bit. Losses were fairly minimal. I have to say, I'm a believer now. I was skeptical, but unless my eyes are lying, they were definitely the go to wahoo trolling lure. Gold glow and anything with pink, and the orange mackeral were insane!

Anybody change out the hooks - or, reading this, I guess there was no perceived need?

They worked well, one guy had his clicker off, went in the galley for a second and was bit. Don't know how far the fish was drug before it came off, plus I saw one other come off when the angler had slack line. But they accounted for 35-40 trolled wahoo with stock hooks.
