If local spiny is going for $32/lb and the average legal lobster is 1.25 lbs, annnnd if the fine is $1000 you could buy 25 lobsters for the price of that one short you didn't get to keep.

Im sorry this happened to you, sounds like an honest mistake.

Guy was lucky the warden was in a good mood. Could have been 2 tickets. You are required by law to have a measuring device in possession when fishing lobsters

    Those tickets are anywhere from $500 to $1,000 for each short lobster
    It should depend on if the warden is in a good mood
    If you were nice to him
    If the warden caught you with a short and thinks you made a honest-mistake it should be around $500
    If the warden thinks you are poaching for profit or any thing like that then you should get a $1000 fine
    And as stated above
    Not having a measuring device should be a ticket as well
