Cory - the fish are in a relaxed mode right now, knowing they are safe from you for a while. We’ll get back out there on Jugular and do some damage once you are through this and are healed up.

Cory, first off "Good Luck". Both my boat partner Frank and myself work in the Cardiac Cath Lab at Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa. Matter of fact, we work for Cody's(longboard85) Brother In-law who's the manager. Hopefully you are a candidate for TAVR and they get you in and out. You'll be fishing in no time. Good luck and feel free to shoot us any questions. We'd be happy to help you any way we can. Take care.

Sucks that you need the procedure but what a blessing it is to live in a time and place where good treatment is so readily available. God's speed and prayers for your recovery.

I had an Aeortic Dissection 16 years ago when I

was 46 years old. I now sport a Mechanical Valve.

2 years ago I developed irregular heart beat. Arrithmia.

Within this last year and a half. I have had 2 heart

ablasion operations. First one was " aborted ". The

Doctor nicked my Femeral Artery. Second operation

fixed the Arrithmia. Just within this past week I found

out I need another piece of my Aeorta replaced. FUU

UUUUCK ! I missed one fishing season after my very

first operation. Like I probably will after this next operation.

BUT ! I'm not done fishing. I still have a lot of fish to kill !

Bummer on your experience, if I can no longer fish after this put me in my grave, I can't live with that option?

I have had such incredible support from the fishing community, there is no way I can ever thank you all enough for such kind thoughts and especially your prayers and well wishes.

I go to the hospital tomorrow for pre opt. and then will arrive at Anaheim Regional Hospital at 7am Monday 05-20-19 in preparation for surgery at 9am. My options were reduced to open heart surgery, doing to the fact that I have a 2 valve problem, the Aortic valve has to be replaced, while the Mitral valve has to be either repaired or replaced. Tavr is not an option, nor would my insurance authorize it. Fortunately I am very low risk, very healthy otherwise, and less than 1% risk of problems rising from this surgery.

Thanks again everyone and thank you Bloody Decks for allowing my participation on this forum despite not providing a fish report?

I pray the most that I will return healthy and able to go fishing sometime in the near future. And continue to share my adventures with all on this forum.

My dad went through this procedure about three years ago. After his recovery and getting his meds stabilized, he actually has more energy than he has had in years with very few side effects.

Once you have recovered and get your medications stabilized look into if your insirance will cover an at home inr tester. Like a blood glucose machine on steroids. It will save you from having to go to the lab.

Your now going to be part of the front zipper club.

Wishing you all the best sir!

Your energy level was high with a heart condition. You will be off the chart repaired. Take it slow and easy there is no time table for your return but I can't wait for your next report.
