I have caught thousands of WSB in my fishing career working for very reputable charters.

UNDOUBTEDLY
that is a WHITE SEA BASS. NOT 28 INCHES. Bars are a sign of stress. You can tell by the lack of the fang like teeth and PURPLE CROME BABY!

Look at the belly of the fish. You can clearly see a raised ridge or zipper. That is 100% a wsb. The zipper is the only positive id.

I dont know if you were trying to point out that it wasnt 28" because you think i kept it? Fish was released. I wouldnt keep it if im not sure exactly what it is.

Also not sure what you guys mean by "the zipper" , but after catching another and having a closer look, i can defenetly tell its a wsb. Thanks for all the intel

The “zipper“ is a raised ridge along the belly. If you look carefully at your photo you can actually see it there. All wsb have it, no corvina do.

Fish was out of the water for a really short time, and swam away like a champ
You laid it on a rock.
My guess is the fish died or soon will from infection.
WSB are known to be particularly vulnerable to handling; it's been studied.
Not trying to string you up, just a heads up for the future.
Leave em in the water, unhook/cut line @lip. Forget about pic.
