I'm booked to fish BFT probably at the Cortez this Sunday. Wind models show the remnants of a hurricane Lida sitting there with 30 knot winds this Sunday. Called Point Loma who said they haven't heard anything.

Anyone have any info from the boats or other landing?

I'm using Weather Underground for tropical storm activity. They're showing Lidia as a Tropical Depression still below the border on Sunday, and moving northwest. Could be bumpy out there. I guess potential for South swell mixed with winds typically out of the northwest could mix it up pretty good.

Party boats usually won't cancel unless they have to. Earlier this year I was out at San Clemente Island with what the captain described as 40 miles per hour winds. It was shit both ways but they still went.

I use Windfinder that shows Lidia sitting on the Cortez Sunday AM with 30 knot winds stretching to SD.

I wouldn't want to be on the cortes, when it's blowing 30 knots.

    Hi Mike
Hope all is going well these days.
The BFT have moved east in to cleaner water on the 181/182 ridge area- 25/30 miles from mission bay. Very close. The boats are all fishing there the past few days. It is odd they are moving east this time of year but the water was dirty for months inshore and has finally cleaned up.

they may even end up on within 10 miles- uppen nine mile and off oceanside this week.

    Short rides..

with that said Sunday doesnt look great, monday the wind improves.

I use windytv for wind and waves and Noaa and Wunderground for the tropical systems.
Sunday may be a little tough at the Cortez, Monday will be better.
