Mexico is so screwed up, I don't fish there if I would it would only be the outer banks on someone else's boat. They change the rules constantly, and the policing policies depend on how they feel ... what what rules they feel like enforcing at the time your stopped.. vhf radio rules or how many miles from land or what ever the fuck else the decide on ..etc etc...

But what will happen to the sea Lions? They will not survive on their own. No fisherman to feed them.

I love fishing the nados. It's nice having an inshore fishery where I don't have to worry about too many people crowding me. The islands offer many different views and conditions that will take a while to learn.
I have not fished it too much lately because the seal problem is so ridiculous that it makes it impossible to enjoy. Those fury fucks are even eating the rockfish.

I totally respect he 3/4 day skippers and their knowledge of the area. I especially like the skipper on the Mission Belle. When the fish are on the move, he seems to have a keen sense of how to get them. Sometimes I just sit ans watch him maneuver around the getting on the fish - trying to learn Maybe I should just pay for a ride and sit in the wheel house?

The point of this post is that the Nados have become a nightmare to fish. with the seals. More importantly, I feel sorry for the 3/4 day fleet if this impacts them more because hey are already over-burdened with costs.

You are probably right about Mexico trying to use its leverage. That is a dangerous game, however because Trump will double down and, in reality, the US not only has more leverage but the political will to use it.

Good thing for global warming. If the doomsayers are right, we will have year-around exotics as far north as the Faralons by the end of next year.

I would say this -- I don't think it is fair to blame the Mexican people, or even its government, for the drug smuggling problem here or there. We are more to blame. If it is a war we can't win, we should throw in the towel, but only with the understanding that we aren't going to use tax dollars to help the people who F themselves up. Families and private charities will have to take care of that, but that is the only way to incentivize people to take personal responsibility for the decisions they make. If they mess up, they pay the price, not someone else. Similarly, it is our government's responsibility to make our borders secure and the truth of the matter is that the political motivations of our leaders over the past 30+ years have favored illegal immigration over the safety and welfare of Americans. (Ironically, Mexico's imigration policies have favored THEIR citizens over those immigrating from the south. Illegal aliens there are treated horribly. And it is a serious CRIME in Mexico for any non-citizen to express any critical political opinion.)

Why is it that any criticism of mexico or mexicans will always have someone calling out racist no matter the subject. They have a right to pass what ever laws they want about their fisheries .....that's not racist....we have a right to complain as customers of their licenses and permits that isn't racist.....Complaining about mexicans running their country isn't racist either...complaining about the way our government closes their eyes to the problems illegals here cause isn't racist.....Seems like some call you racist if you say mexican beer sucks
