Left the dock at 5:30 am and got great bait at the barge , headed to south island and right away we had wind and I thought that`s great we`re going to have a drift for halibut which was the target fish , water temp was 60' 9 and pretty clean , got down to my deep water spot and set up our first drift in 98 feet of water , by now the wind is at 10 knots and im usong a 4 oz torpedo sinker to stay on the bottom , before we know it we`re in 115 feet pf water , super fast drift so we move back up to reset and by 9 am it was blowing pretty good , no halibut and a couple of throw back sand bass , we moved back up to south island and tried drifting in 35 feet of water for nothing except a couple of throw back calicos , lots of bait at south island but we didn`t get it done today , we paid our dues and im planning on going back out sunday and hopefully ill have a better fish report , See you on the water
