Jumped on the Liberty 3/4, reservations said 62 ppl. The last counts said 56 so maybe 6 ppl slept in? It looks like we had 160 yellowtail for the day. The bite was super early, most of our fish came before 10:30 am. All techniques worked.
I regretted not taking a YOYO setup bc a lot of the fish were on the bottom. But after putting in time to hook 3 fish on a TN14A I was over the YOYO. I passed them off to a friend who had never caught a yellowtail before, it was fun watching him struggle to fight these fish.
Also the boat was super crowded, the bow and stern. It looked a little too sketch to be throwing iron on the bow with 9 other ppl most of which were just casting heavy lures and I didn’t want to be in the stern with the bait rods. I brought a jigging rod 5’5” and tied a dropped loop so I could fish mid boat and stay away from the crowds. Went 5/5 on the Snoopy pole with a BV300. My friend ended up with 4 for the day. He definitely was not dressed for the occasion but 4 yellowtail for his first time out ain’t too bad.

:appl:My trip on the Liberty had 40 people. 60 peoples is a CLUSTER. I heard they want to limit the boat to 35 people and raise the price which I would gladly pay to fish the boat. Awesome operation.

Super cool! Doesn't matter what a brother wears as long as he's catching fish! Back in the day vans and board shorts were all I wore on sporties.
