Anyone keeping a cooler in cabin in the V-berth area? Is so, what's the largest size that fits?
That depend...in the channel, with the cushions/bed in place, or what?
What Anthony said.....
Vipertom removed his bench seat and a yeti 160 fits perfect. Yeti also makes a cushion for it too. Im thinking of doing this to my boat as well....going to wait how she rides with everything on then decide from there
In the Channel, with cushions.
Side facing is brutal for the passengers tho. Better 2 chairs and one bean bag.
The 160 is great in the cabin if you don't sleep there.
The cooler is taller than the height of the rest of the v berth so it sits up higher making it impossible to sleep. It also means fish coming into the cabin which I like to avoid.
I keep a Canyon 220qt on my roof that works great as a seat and ice storage.
I then put a kill bag on the deck for fish and transfer ice out of the 220 on the roof as needed.
I keep a Yeti 45 in the cabin for food and drink.
It's a lot of coolers but it allows me to carry a ton of ice, keep my fish on the back deck to keep the cabin and top clean and keeps my food separated.
No doubt, most comfort is remove the bench and add 1 or 2 propedstal post with captains chairs but we lose storage.
Thats the neat thing about Parkers. So many different ways to customize.
I haven't been able to find a cooler that fits in that middle section of that low of height.
Like Brett mentioned..... it makes it almost impossible to sleep.
STASH cooler is probly the best option.
Billy if you do that I’ll buy your bench
What Brett said...The seat for my new tower is Engle 123 qt with seat cushion..I am also putting a 120 qt cooler up against the aft side of my BW bait tank..makes a great seat for passengers watching rods and supplements ice storage/fish storage..
Still leaves a lot of deck space..don't forget kill bag on swim step...
I would not compromise cabin space
How did you guys mount the cooler to roof of your Parker. I have a 2310, I was thinking about doing the same thing.
I hate drilling holes in my boat so just have a restaurant mat and then tie down straps to my hand rails. I've done this since I bought the boat and have never had any issues. If you look at the pic I posted it shows it well.
I like to have my upper station ice chest elevated for cleaning, eliminate the green goo from growing and it enables me to see under ice chest at what i'm about to run into...these were made by Tony at FBU when made my tower
on the Engel ice chest..just remove rubber feet and the hole is perfect for the tubing...can't remember the tube size
the Yeti 160q fits perfectly where the bench seat goes. Yeti also sells a cushion pad to go on the top
Is an Igloo 150/160 long enough for the bottom fish and yellowtail caught in California?
