Well gang, after a nice load hot hot 4-6" dines it was OFF with Capt. Rob,
2nd Vinny, Matt and Tad on Deck and Christopf making awesome food!

With only 12 onboard, this would be one of the all time kick butt, knock down
fun days for the ages. Regulars like Richard, Justin, ex-Phlllies/Dodger pitcher
Kevin Gross, Matt, Richard, Hito, Ted,Derek,Bob, Ron1, Ron2, Jim and
Arizona's Skylar and dad Trevor who fished hard for limits too. Fun bunch!

We started at first light at 60 miles after heading due south all night, and
would paddy hop all day pretty much getting our asses kicked by mostly
all bigger yellowtail to 28+. A big dorado around 20+ was 1 of 5, and 7
yellowfin hit the cedar plug or Hoochies. Kevin and I both both got our
biggest yellows, his the JP, on 20lb with a 1/0 hook and flat took a beating,
when trying to catch the yellowfin or dorado below them. With wild yellows
crashing, the others below had little chance. We dropped the flat falls and
colt snipers trying to get tuna and just more yellows was the result. Insane.
Late we chased a huge school of porpoise around but narry a jigstrike or
metered big school, so on into the dark still looking at 80 miles. This was
one of the trips to die for, 12 on a 90x26 big ride, and nearly non-stop
crazy paddy fishing. ** We mostly fished 20-25-30lb all day with 1/0 hooks.
We noted the few yellowfin tuna spitting out red crabs again, saury too.
Several of the paddies loaded with big yellows, we could see free swimming
dorado, yellowfin, even twice on a big baitballs between us and the paddy.
Bottom line there's a lot of forage for these fish to eat all over out there now.

Soon a beat up tired bunch hit the hot shower room and sat down to one
of Christopf's killer Pork Roast, Squash, Green Bean sauce/rice & salad
dinner to die for before hitting the rack for the 8hr ride back to the barn.
THANKS TO ROB AND THE WHOLE CREW....WHAT A ROCKER.
I'll let the pics do the talking, I'm beat and have lot of fish to get packed. TC.

Getting my gear ready now....was planning on 5 rigs to cover everything but after this report I'm now down to 2 rigs - 30 & 40 lb. 2-speeds.

Excellent as always, Ron! I had to laugh at the picture of you holding the nice yellowtail sideways with a grumpy look on your face, obviously pissed that he grabbed your bait instead of the dorado that you were aiming for. Oh well. . .

Bring a 20lb too....the yellowfin are biting that, with 20lb flouro 2-3ft,
1/0 ringed Owner Flyliners working best....IF they bite. LOL LOL

After getting my butt kicked on 20lb on my MXL for some 20+ mins. I
looked 10 years older most likely. Another bigger model almost spooled
my JX with 30lb and 80lb Spectra, that was a screamer too. LOL

Great trip report. Does that party boat have refrigerated fish hold? I see a bunch of full gunny sacks...and can't fathom my fish not chilling in a cooler. I can't imagine eating nono chilled fish for sushi.

Fish are bagged during the bite - rinsed, tagged & put in the RSW hold shortly after the bite is done.
