awesome! we had 3 hoo strikes yesterday 2 while flylining deans on a paddy and one bit straight thru the 100lb on the trolling rig without a noise…. can't even imagine swallowing a marauder whole without pulling and line of the reel

Way to go Ron. We were next to you yesterday on the Apollo. Stupid fishing! We had a couple of tags but no sticks on the hoos.

Thanks Ron for post n some of my pics. N thk you all for the kudos from you guys. I'm still stunned I got my 2nd Wahoo ever, gaffed by Mike agn-ha 45 lbs n JP fish for crew and bustin there hineys off. Baggin, gaffing, undoing tangles etc.
This was a back to back trip for me. 1st in years. I just had that gut feeling to go. Have epidural next week n may be awhile before I get back out.?
We bottomed out 75 mi (per Scott) saw Apollo... N Ranger 85. We shared same skool within 30 yds from each other's sterns. Wide open Yfin bite. Limits for all.

We had few kelps, but those that we hit, were holding huge dorado,....and one that held those Wahoo. Geez, what a rush. 4-5 were hooked...3 landed. 2 on casting jigs, n mine on 8" nose hooked mackerel w steel braid leader on #2 hook. Scott finally got his-jig, other on chrome jig.
One cut off on blue/chrome jig--no steel leader. :-( and a few whose mackerel were bit clean off bringing just the head back.

A special thanks to Condor--Scott, Mike, Vince, Matt, Tadd n Bill for great trip.

My bad. I stand corrected now that I looked at the post again.
But I was on the Apollo yesterday next to the big bird when they reported the first 2 hoos.
    What a year!
