Ya, it was on my Avet LX raptor on a Calstar 700xh. I have that reel filled with about 300 yards of 80lb spectra, and a topshot(maybe 50ish yards) of 60lb mono on it. 4/0 ringed hook, 6oz torpedo held onto the line with a rubber band maybe 5 ft above where the mono to fluoro connection is, and the largest sardine you can find in the well(which were still not that big).

Congratulations on a nice fish, it's tough to get bit on anything heavier than 40# and good thing you had the balls to stay with 60 in the AM I don't think you would have had a chance with that monster on 40#!

    Thanks for the report.

Perfection, congrats on your PB. Looks like you had everything put together just right for your biggest bft. Fun fights aren't they.

I agree.. Another guy got bit on a similar size fish right after me on 40lb, fought the thing for probably 4 hours, and eventually got sawed off. 60lb was getting bit... I got bit both mornings at the same time with the same 60lb setup.

That's been my story on bait at the 43 this season. I can't even get bit on 50 unless it was a foamer on poppers or iron; I'd drop down to 40 on a long drift and end up getting spooled every time with an Avet JX6/3.
