    they usually move their boat from SD to LA around this time of the year. the el dorado moved up a few weeks ago to berth 55

    Wood hull, and if I recall correctly it's double hulled with a gap between a inner and outer hulls in which air circulates to keep the planks dry. Lots of air trapped below the waterline is my guess.
