On a family trip to visit friends in Oregon. Since the shad are running and the water is warming I decided to sneak out for a morning of sturgeon fishing. Set out a couple of dead shads and only had to wait a few minutes before this big boy bit. I thought he broke off as the line went slack after I set the hook, but it turned out he had just charged the boat and stayed buttoned. After a fun fight he was by the boat and I got some pics. A few minutes later I hooked another one about the same size but he spit the hook when he jumped. Another one bit a little while later but cut the line on its body. That was it for the morning and then it was time to take the kids shad fishing for a couple hours. Unfortunately they weren't biting very well but we did get 4 and my youngest daughter hooked and landed two all by herself like a pro. Good morning of fishing.

Looks amazing! Did you fish for shad on your own or did you have the guide take you? Looking to pack in as much action as possible.
