We started out Saturday by getting to the boat launch around 6:00 AM. After about an hour wait we managed to get the boat in the water and start fishing. Most of our fishing took place right in front of the ramp trolling up river in the slower current and back bouncing in the faster current. We trolled for a solid 8 hours without ever having a bump. Fishing seemed to be pretty consistent for some but evidently the fish didn't like what we had to offer. Throughout the day we fished everything from superbaits to herring to quickfish with no results. Around 3:00 PM we decided to call it quits and head for the barn. After hearing good reports from downriver we decided to hit the same spot in hope of fish moving up throughout the night. The only change was that we decided to fish downriggers instead of jet divers like the previous day. Sunday morning we got an earlier start and arrived at the boat ramp with almost no wait to get the boat in the water. Started out fishing the same hole and had our first fish in the boat within a half hour. Fishing stayed steady until we put our last fish in the boat around 10:45AM. We managed a 3 man limit, nothing huge with the biggest fish around 16 Pounds. The hot ticket was a green pro troll flasher (echip and agitater fin) followed by a red hot tomale superbait with a 6 foot leader. We fished the super baits stuffed with tuna 30 feet behind the downrigger balls and 25 feet out on the wire. Overall the weekend was pretty good even with the slow day on Saturday.

Heres the porn:

I tryed to get the bloody decks decal in there but somebody decided to cut it off in the photo.

Brett. A quick check of the regs for yourself and you will see that the Preist Rapids/Vernita seciton is infact open to retention of wild chinook salmon in the Fall.

Thanks, J.D for setting the record straight. There would have been alot of illegal boats out there that day if you couldnt have kept natives.

Help me out here guys! What don't you get? You can't keep natives in the spring I just checked the Regs on line you are aloud two HATCHERY. A WDF agent just might show up on your door step. Next time at least cover the extra fin with your hand when taking a photo.

Yeah these were caught during the fall fishery in October. Brent brought this thread back from awhile ago.
