Had a friend Mike in town from TennessEEEE and he was looking to go play on the water for the day.

Blasted across to Clemente on a dead, greasy, flat ocean and arrived around the back corner about 7:30am.

Just before we rounded Pyramid we had a 5 foot mako jump about 6 feet out of the water and do a flip before landing it, very kewl to see!

Pulled up and started throwing and catching

Followed by a nicer grade fish

    Then the doubles started

and a few more decent fish

    Mike's best calico ever

Followed by Mike's best calico ever, etc..., etc...

Fished the hardbaits and iron for the bigger fish and a few smaller models on the swimbaits. Best fish was 8lbs with a few 7+, 6+ and about 20 or so 4-6lbs, nice day on the larger grade basses!

One can take only sooo... much bass fishing :imdumb::imdumb: so we rolled over to Cat for a bit of buggin' and came home with a few nice ones

Home for a tasty bowl of Apple Jacks by 12:30am!!!

The large soft plastic baits we were using are for sale, however the specific hardbaits we were throwing are not yet for sale. Mickey does sell similar baits for freshwater bass (green / stripers) on his web site.

Not sure when the saltwater version (different body style, paint, hooks, etc...) will be on the market.

Not trying to spam here but a number of the baits 3:16 Lure company makes work very well for Calicos.

3:16 Lure Company - Color Selection

The Mission Fish also works well as it is fully weedless. Killer bait on The Wall and in thick kelp.
