classified ads expire in 30 days where do the ads go ?

classified ads expire in 30 days where do the ads go ?
do they get deleted or can they be renewed or do you rewrite the complete ad and relist it ???

I wish they would set up or send a notice to renew or not the ad..
instead of deleting it in 30 days
