Hey guys
Need some clamp on rod holders. To fit 1.5 in rail tube
I looked and there are obviously a bunch available, but they all taper in at the bottom of rod holder. I want some that a fat jig stick will sit all the way down inside the holder
Can you recommend a brand / source to get

Thank you

I was concerned that they appear to narrow at the bottom
I need my jigstick with but cap to fit
they are cheap enough i guess I could buy one and see

I switched all my clamp on rail rod holders to Hayward Fishing 502W Lininger style holders I had Taco - Tigress - Home made rod holders and had the rod butt cap problems some fit some wouldn't also having the holder on top of the rail is so much better than under my rails are 1.30in. OD

Hey I looked at some pictures
Im not clear how they mount to the rail
They are definitely different than what I was expecting
Can you leave your rod, say up in the bow when running on a birdschool or foamer and have the rods be secure ?

If you had a picture of them mounted that would be awesome

Thanks

I just got these. Recommended from a friend because four bolt retention instead of two. Mine were 1" though. Excellent product.

I would use a leash if doing that... probably a good chance they could eject. Picture your boat like a fulcrum, stern stays in water, bow bounce 4 or 5 feet (potentially).
Amazon has some cheap and decent kayak rod leashes with velcro.

Change the butt-cap on you jig stick for $5 and use any rod holder you like, unless it’s an older telephone pole jig stick than nothing will work, LOL.

Clamped on holders can spin... and they will scratch the rails if you remove them. I have most of mine clamped to rails that run vertical. I have a few in the horizontal rails, and had one spin once. Looked out and my rod which should have been pointing at the sky was pointing at the horizon about to leave the boat. Now, my rule is rods only go in places that can't spin. Bait nets, gaff and other stuff, no problem in the others.

My rails are mostly 1 1/4", so all the holders I've found that fit are big enough for any rod.
