I like the Phenix Abyss 807 with my Fathom 12. I have an OC rods Kaiuli 86hf mag that I really like for 20# with my old 525mag.

My top favorites we have on our boat r calstar 900xlh cut to 8'6", super seeker 270-8', super seeker 196-8'(tosses well but not enough backbone for more than calico fishing), and super seeker 980-8'. Captain has calstar and 196, 2nd captain has 196(he fishes 15# on it), 270-8' and just built 980-8', and I have 196-8' 12#, 270-8' 15#, and 980-8' 20#. All toss great just depends on what ur fishing for mainly. If yellows or tuna go wit 270h-8' not as soft in tip but more backbone or 980-8'
