The Chief was out on a 2.5 day trip this weekend with 21 Anglers and fished San Martin Island on Saturday landing 62 Yellowtail ranging from 12 to 30 pounds on YoYo irons and dropper loops and we got rocked many times as the fish were hanging near the bottom so heavy gear was the way to go. We fished Collonett on Sunday for 82 Lingcod, 41 Reds, 88 Salmon Grouper and 94 assorted Rock cod all in all this was some of the best January Yellowtail fishing I have seen in years and the weather was awesome as you can see by the photos. We probably wont get out this weekend due to the Super Bowl but we are on line to depart Friday Feb 7th and hope to get another shot at the Yellows and great Codding.
