My old one needs to retire...
Looking to get a 18-20 freezer, where did you guys buy yours?
I price a few at sears, almost 1grand for a 19.7 with the 5 year warranty. Jesus christ! Not in a hurry, just looking for the great deals on appliances.

IMHO, in my experience, buy a freezer that is not frost free. The frost free type will suck the liquid out of the fish. It may be a PITA pounding off the ice from the sides of the freezer, but, well worth the quality of the bait. I've used Opelu for bait that was stored for over 2 years. The skin was still attached to the meat and the blue and yellow stripes were still bright. Just my 2 cents...

check out ross appliances in kalihi, big ugly green colored building, looks like that force cat in hilo. They refurbish used appliances and offer a 1 yr guarantee. I've had good dealings with them

Be sure to check to see if your state or power company have any rebates on high efficiency models....
Avoid any "old" energy sucking boxes off of craigslist... no matter how great of deal it is.
Ditto on avoiding frost free units...cost more to run as well as sucking all the water out of the contents.
