Has anyone heard of Chupu charters? i am looking to Charter a boat in may and was thinking of using them. I know everyone has their favorite boat and there is never a guarante to catch fish; however some have better luck then others. I was looking into Maggie Joe and Magic as well.any good/poor reviews would be apppreciated

All 3 you mention are solid choices... Magic & MJ one side (South) of the Island, Chupu another (North) and another choice could be Live Bait out West. Check out there websites, look for recent catches, at least 2 of them have had some banner trips recently.

I used to travel to Oahu a lot for business. I have fished all the charters you mentioned. I took advice from a former bloody decker and tried Live Bait. I fished with Capt. Shannon 5 or 6 times, and would again. I went to his sight and see they got a different boat now.Wish i could go there again.

I personally operate two charter boats myself out of Oahu, one on the Windward side and one out of town, I'm not here to plug just provide some advice. The three names you mentioned are all fantastic operations and fishermen, if you were to choose anyone of them you wouldn't be steering yourself wrong. I do have to say, that if I had enough money/time/fortune to build a boat from scratch, it would be the Maggie Joe, I absolutely love that boat. The south side is going to be calmer than the North Shore most likely and closer to Waikiki.

I haven't fished with Capt. Shannon on the Live Bait yet, But I will when I get there. I called about his old boat that he has for sale and he was totally honest with me about it. He told me the good and the bad even if it meant that I didn't buy his boat. Good, Honest Person in my opinion.

Chupu is a first rate operation, I have also fished Maggie Joe who is great as well. Never fished with Live Bait but fished the boat he currently has many times prior to Shannon picking it up. All 3 are good choices, check the reports and see where the fish are as well as depends on how far you want to drive. Maggie is in Waikkiki, Live Bait Wainae, Chupu North Shore...

I've heard of Chupu but don't know much about them. We chartered the Maggie Joe on 4/7, had a wonderful trip with Capt. Mike and Nathan. Took my son and daughter, just the three of us....Mike and Nate asked if we wanted lots of fish or if we'd rather go for a marlin. Conditions were good, we chose to go for marlin about 30 miles out. We caught several 10-15 lb. baitfish and hooked up a 270 lb. blue marlin, my first (definitely not my last!). By th way, we did catch several nice Mahi Mahi as well. Mike and Nate were fantastic, very professional with great attitudes and it was obvious that they worked well together as a team. If things don't work out with Chupu, you won't go wrong on the Maggie Joe!

All three are solid! Just love Rusty out of Haleiwa.

Its a funny thing that fishing is so addicting.
Will it cause side effects? What are they? Can they be spread through CONTAK!

Not too sure who your gonna find a day in advanced. IMHO Rusty (kuuloakai) is a prick...he's cut me off way too much times at the buoy.
