Unemployed, but got the next gig setup, so I'm free all the time.

I want to go for a boat ride on the ocean. Lingcod, rockfish, etc. Just me, I don't have a group, and weekday because if the boat wasn't full, that would be fine by me. Boat rides seem similarly enough priced between the locations. I want to sleep close, because leaving at 2am from Monroe would be a pain.

Umm, what else? Hotels/campground nearby maybe?

Go ride the slammer. Shorter drive for you to Westport.

Ask Mark Coleman to put you on the short singles list for cancellations/ no-shows. If not the Slammer would be the ticket.

What day are you going on the charter? I'd recommend the Slammer to for a chance at some slab lingcod, otherwise Mark Coleman has a great 6 pack operation. Let me know if you need a night to stay near the docks..I'll see if my house is available, I can work a deal out with you.

Slight threadjack, do charters provide unlimited jigs free of charge? Seems like a charter could lose money if the crew lost enough big jigs(assuming deepwater lings).

    X2

You’ll raise enough Lings on a trip with him to last you a while. He also runs electrics all around.

Thanks for all the responses, guys. So, I guess you guys like the Slammer, lol? I actually already perused Lingcod Todd's website, too. Looking at Tuesday or Wednesday next week. I guess open seats and hotels/rooms nearby are the deciding factors. I'll call around tomorrow.

I don’t think anyone is fishing the ocean this weekend. Weather looks good by midweek next week.

There should be both at neah. (Well at least open there will be open cabins at the cape or open rooms above the pizza place) and seats on one of the boats. (Lingcod todd, Ling daddy, or windsong/k’oo)

Fishing should be good at either location, but I’d go to Neah strictly for sightseeing and experience. Westport is a smelly shithole for the most part, and if it wasn’t for clam digs tuna fishing, and tuna town, I probably wouldn’t go there at all....!
