Been out acouple times doin the yummy thing but couldnt get saturday free... But i did get off early on Friday and was at the north edge of the MLPA by 1pm. Did the hookup bait thing for 40-50 Calicos. Tried slow trolled macks at the end of the day for nothin. Biggest was about 4lbs, but just wide open. Then got a hall pass on sunday same time and took my buddy Micey out. Current was good and the bite too until the tide switched. Micey got the better grade on 7" swimbaits while i goofed with hookup baits and some tubes I converted cuz those hookup baits are damn expensive.. water was 69-71both days. Had one bait boil come up and scored a small yt on the surface iron and then got a decent Calico on the second bait boil, surface iron... great 2 days of fishin with my boy getting a 5lber... lifes great and so is my wife!!!

They really love those surface jigs. I'm too cheap to toss them in the weeds for too long. I know, pitiful.

We did a short Saturday session at PL...I knew it was going to be good when the first 4 casts produced decent fish. Crankbaits & swimbaits were killin' it.

Nice! yeah those Hook-up baits are cool and all but pricey, easy enough to make em yourself. Maybe not exactly the same but they work just as well
    Thanks for the report!
