Yellowtail are getting bigger, several in the 50's and up to 54 lbs...so far. Our current group and last one got the Cedros treatment, with some of them reaching yellowtail limits in consecutive days. Also in the mix are a few dorados, of course lots of good size calicos, but the strange thing is sightings of marlin (and one caught last week), which never happen before. Catches of YT and dorado are similar to last season around this time of year. We are expecting an increase of dorado. Red crabs still here and YT has full stomachs of them, so its a competition to lure them to bite. Our skippers experience is no match to decide where to go and what is recommended to use, alternating lures and styles making our guests happier with catches.
The YT have been biting on jigs, surface and yoyo, rapalas and live bait equally this week and last week. For dorado our boats have been a couple of miles offshore under the many kelp paddies to the East of the island.
Weather, sunny, very nice with highs in the low 80's and lows in the mid 70's. Some breeze in the morning, but nothing to bother much while fishing. No fog but humidity in the 50's and 60's %.
Now, enjoy some of the pics !
