We just pulled out of Avalon after a stop for more ice and beer. Midway through the third day of fishing the three of us have scored one 30# BSB, 1 short WSB and 7 WSB keepers. One of the WSB’s was about 15 #’s the rest have been in the 25 to 40 # range with most being between 30 and 40#s. Time for us to go look for the last two.

A quick update. We picked up one more fish Tuesday evening bringing the total count to 8 fish for the trip. During the night the water temp dropped almost ten degrees and turned ugly. The bite was over. Fished along the backside until the wind made it to miserable to fish. Came down the inside, got a weather report and said Goodbye Catalina. I’ll post some pics this evening.

Some pictures from the trip. The first one is my brother Rick with the first days catch. He's holding the smallest keeper of the trip.

Next is Rick and his son in law Ron who is a basketball coach at the University of Pacific holding one of the grey gosts.

This BSB was not at all cooperative. He came out about 50 feet of water and took 10 minutes to get his act togeter and head back to the bottom. He seemed to prefer laying on his side and sunbathing.

Finally me holding one of the nicer fish.
