Went to go get bait but the Marina Del Ray bait barge only had beat up and small anchovies so we didn't bother getting any. We decide to head over to Catalina anyway with our freezer full of frozen squid and we would try to make bait ourselves. First time I have never seen mackerel at Catalina. All we had was frozen squid, leadheads, and some irons. Tuna crab were packed so tight on the front side you could probably walk on water. We moored in cherry cove and hoop netted friday night. We only had 6 frozen mackerel for the hoops so we had to get creative with bait since we didn't catch any. We put some left over El Pollo Loco chicken and hamburger meat in one of the hoops. From now on we are using chicken in our hoops. Caught our biggest lobster in that hoop and a ton of shorts. Saturday we tried to make bait again with defeat. Fish had lockjaw all day on frozen squid. We ended up with a bonito on the troll and a calico on the squid. We chopped up the bonito for lobster bait and got 5 legals and a ton of shorts. Wasn't a great trip but sure beats sitting in my calculus class...

    Ha! I love it.

El Pollo Loco is one of our clients. I just sent this to our AE who forwarded it on to the client.

    X2

I took calculus in high school and college. Guess how many times I've used it in the past 13 years.

The AE had fun with it. Maybe ELPO should reconsider their future marketing goals and add in lobster bait as another advertising angle to increase sales. LOL
