Left MDR at 7 am on 8/2 headed over to the Westend and looked for fish out to the 175 for nada around 11 we ran over to the Island and found a few yellows just a little outside of west cove. Around 4.30 decide to pack it in and keep a few macks on shotgun if we see something headed back to MDR. About 7 miles off the Westend spot a large kelp for nada...get going again and finally saw what i have wanted see up this way for 4 long years having moved my boat out from Key West... 4 little white tern birds going ballistic an a trash can size patty water about 71.8. As i pull'um back and start to slide up I see huge flash right under the paddy. Fire out the first mack and 30yds latter on with the bull (25lb floro) ...tell my buddy to keep his bait out...once I got my fish close to the boat again the cows come with him and he locks into a nice female....5.30 and 49lbs of dolphin on the boat...there were more fish in the school but had to get back to MDR to catch the blue oyster cult show...actually those guys still can still jam. Finally signs of life in the northern sector...let's gettum boys they have had to much fun down south. photo 4 (3).JPG

Might as well be La Paz, nice job on the local dodo. They usually come a whole lot smaller when they do show up around here.

Your best pic is the last one showing that beautiful, vibrant fish peeling away from ya.

As James said it was a pleasure meeting you. Your fish was awesome and your boat even more so. And yes Blue Oyster Cult was rocking Burton Chase Park. If by chance you ever need a couple more to help put fuel in your boat let us know.

    Larry in the red skiff.
