    Lings, like most predatory fish, get way more active when there is good water movement. All those little rockfish are getting blown around down there and the lings are just waiting in their caves to dart out and engulf them. An hour before and after the peak high tide is a general rule of thumb, but when you have some major tide swings, sometimes two to even three hours before the high can be really good.

    I've been a big fan of your reports. Your a very talented fisherman. I've noticed you bring you daughter out for some trips. I'm the "fun uncle" to a 1 year old girl, my question is what can I do to give her a great first time/trip on the water. Any info would be great. Keep up the great reports.
