Went out with the boyz left the harbor around 3pm with swells 2-4ft. Winds 5-11kts with heavy fog near the island. Looked up and saw half a moon but pretty bright over all. Winds died down around 7ish and was flat calm seas. Strong current on the west end and fog disappeared. Hopped 40-50ft and wasn't producing. So tried deep but the current was sooooo strong it washed our traps to sea. Saw others hooping deep and they had the same problems. We even put 5lb weights and still was pushing our buoys down. So we ended up hooping back to shallow. Only got 11 legals and 200 horn sharks released. I never seen so much horn sharks in my life. Not sure why they weren't crawling but noticed a lot of dolphins near shore feeding or something.
Was cold out there so wear your ski gears. Headed back around 11pm flat calm seas with heavy fog near shore. Should of just stayed in long Beach and hooped hahah.

Thank you for the report.

You didn't want to stick around all night and keep chipping away?
