You know the anticipation of a trip....mon tues wed thur....all you do is think about the upcoming trip and the "what ifs"....perfect weather, great bait and biting fish...well I thought about this trip the whole week, everyday, just like you do. Left thur night and choose to give a friend a ride to Avalon, he asked and I figured "good karma" to do so...especially since the game plan was to "try" n make our own squid on the frontside and then go round back and git to it! Well the squirters didn't cooperate and even the Mary Claire was next to us fighting "dogs" and seeing No squid! Decided to go round back and make our own or try....very stressful to be 1130pm and have No bait on board (cept frozen, but thats another topic). Hailed ch 11 n heard nothing....knew the bait was at China/Ben Weston and kept driving. Can't tell you the "feeling" when finally 9 miles up the island, I saw 2 well lit light boats!!! Called em and they're loaded!! And then we were!!! Pheww....both tanks jugged and driving back down to fish and goto sleep!! Bed 2am, alarm 5am, you know the drill. Uneventful night, no biters.

Saw some friends we know and fished down the beach from them.....hour of hard work and we were on the board w 18 lb'er!!! High 5's, no pressure now (cept we want 1 more), and a shot of Fireball to keep the morning rolling!!! :):jig:. Hopscotched up the island and tried for flatties and more cbass...about noon, Michael hooks into something, calls "shark, I saw brown. Fish was hot, took him under the transom, then up to the bow and almost into the anchor, then back towards the rear....I'm standing there with gaff in hand and this "thing" comes up and flashes me....Holy shit, CBass!!! One more circle under boat and boom, head gaff for Michaels 1st Seabass ever!!!!! So stoked!!! Got 2 flatties later in day (after our nap) and a Hamachi Yellow ate the bottom rig in 15 ft of water, go figure! First time my boat has had the Grand Slam and we are just stoked!!! Filet mignon, red wine n beer and we slept like babies!! :D

Tight lines all....thx for reading:cool:
