Headed out of Redondo Beach yesterday morning straight for the temp break between Catalina and SCI. About 10 miles west of 14 Mile Bank. No exaggeration.. foamers were everywhere! Fish were skittish and wanted nothing we were offering them. Wish I had invested in a kite! Since our time was limited, after about 4 hours of chasing them we decided to surrender to the Bluefin God and headed for Catalina for the regular fare. Decided to stop at some marked fish near Seal Rocks and no sooner was I about to drop anchor this amazing foamer comes rolling through! Thought I was halluncinating! Jason, my son's fishing buddy, nailed this guy on a popper. They didn't like our sardines or irons. The boat 50 yards away nailed a 150+ at 100 feet. Happy to have landed this. Finished the day off on the frontside with a small yellowtail and countless calico and barracuda. Memorable day!
