    Hello Fish Fam,

I have always wanted to end a afternoon of fishing stopping at the Mexican food spot on Avalon pier. Has anyone stopped just to have lunch or earlier dinner? Is it possible to moor the boat for an hour or two somewhere?

please let me know if you have done this before and how easily you did it. Thank you.

Pretty sure you have to pay for a can, the day rate. Especially when it is busy unless you have a dinghy, then use the dinghy dock. And assuming you mean Eric’s on the pier?

When you come into the harbor, harbor patrol will generally meet you and escort you to your assigned mooring. The. You can call for the shore boat to take you to the pier if you don’t have a dinghy.

If they don’t meet you call on Ch.12.

    Shoreboat is Ch.9.

If its a little boat you may be able to put it on the mooring line. Busy there summer weekends.

There is only Erics' and Kaleb's place (forget the name) on the pier - neither are mexican restaurants. There is Coyote Joes just up from the pier across from the Marlin Club, take a left off the pier walk down to the first street go right up a bit for Mi Casita. There is California Cantina down Crescent if you take a right off the pier. Between those three I would I pick Mi Casita. Problem with it is that you have to pass Luau Larrys to get there.

I have not tried Maggies which is up to your right off the pier by CA Cantina. The best used to be up @ The Landing until they turned it into a boutique or something :1041677399:

Best food on the island... they serve mexican too: http://www.buffalonickelrestaurants.com/

Excellent fajitas..... and the ceviche is SUPER GOOD

Rosie's Fish Market on the end of the pier is good for quick fish tacos, fish and chips, swordfish sandwich (very good) etc. Not really a full fledged mexican joint tho.

You can get a mooring for 4 hours, for half the price of the normal fee. So if your boat is 30 or under, it would be $21.

Shore boat is $4 per person, plus tip if want.

Food at Eric’s on the pier is good and nice atmosphere. Maggie’s is probably the best Mexican food, but I’d rather eat at an outside venue if your only there for a couple of hours.
