Got an early start around 4 am out of Oxnard hoping they had some squid for sale. Lucky us they had about a dozen or so scoops left, a little beat and spawned out but we'll take it! Smooth ride across arriving close to grey light. Current was ripping making dropping the hook a bit of a challenge setting up. Once we got setup the fish came through. Dropper loops setups & a leadhead with two squid pinned on a few cranks off bottom worked for us. Once the current died the bite died. We headed to yellowbanks for a few drifts and bbq lunch and back to capa for the last hr. Not much current but got lucky with one last yellow for the day. Smooth crossing back, boat ran great, beat work, trailer held together, cant ask for much more.

Stoked for you guys, way to put the wood to them. That bite has been super pushed down for two weeks straight and you guys did it right going on a less crowded day and early.

Hopefully this a sign of things to come going into summer. The flatties should be joining the party soon too!
