Mostly for shits, I'm making a rod out of a perfect piece of 8' Calcutta I have. It has a good, parabolic action but is strong as hell from what I can tell. I want to coat it with something along the lines of urethane, just not sure which.

Any specific products that would work well for this application? I'd use normal urethane but afraid of delam or cracking when it bends.

I'm sure CPE would do it, is that the right choice? Any prep tips?

Thanks!

I cast another vote for CPXtra. I found it far more user friendly than Permagloss. I actually called it Perma-toss. Used it once and threw it out!
