I'm posting everywhere I can to get fellow anglers to send an email to the Governor to get him to reopen the boat launch ramps. When I spoke to one of my San Diego County Supervisors, he said the Governor is the only one with the authority to issue that order. Here is a link to send your own email or copy and paste ours to send (with modifications about your occupation, etc). https://govapps.gov.ca.gov/gov40mail/

We are in the entertainment business with no work income to feed ourselves. We own a boat and would like to be able to launch into the ocean to catch dinner (a man taught us to fish and assured us we would always be able to eat). The launch ramps being closed seems unnecessary and is keeping us from fishing. Our suggestion is to post an officer at the entrance to the launch area to check ID's - allowing only boat owners and their immediate families through the check point. Since trailer launched boats can't hold more than a few people, this would still be in compliance with the Covid-19 under-10 people-in-a-group rule. Also, the salt water of the ocean would not allow the virus to survive. Therefore, a safe place to be. Boating is also good exercise in fresh air. We have paid for our boat registration, insurance, and fishing licenses. We also have fuel sitting in the boat. Not being able to use it when we pose no public health threat makes no sense. With most car dealerships open for business, please open the ocean launch ramps state wide. There is a stronger likelihood of the virus being spread at dealerships (test driving a car, touching multiple cars other people will then touch, etc) than at boat launch ramps where the only thing being touched is your own vessel.

Yes, each county is responsible for closing the ramps, but they did so on the orders of the Governor. He is the only one that can rescind the order.

The governor did not order the launch ramps closed. I do support your effort as I would also like to access closed launch ramps. There are still a few left open FYI...

Not in San Diego. Supposedly, Glorietta Bay on Coronado is, but very very hard to access with a 25' boat. And the Governor did by ordering all parks to close...the ramps are part of city and county parks. And, again, he is the only one with the authority to amend the order to NOT lump launch ramps into the parks category.

Good luck, trying to get a fishing license that makes , year from when you buy it, common since regulations that don't have to be interpreted by lawyers. Fishermen have been trying for these changes for generations! Easier to close everything, always ignorant people out there that will need policing, rescue, baby sitting, whole set off dominoes to fall into place for anything to happen. This is California
