Fuckin Tim.... "simple build"
a 3 color fade on each guide wrap with 4 olive branches and a faded inlay band on the underwrap. "Simple build". How dare you?!

Hahaha.. well done my friend. That rod looks phenomenal.

If you call this simple Tim, I'm not putting up any of my stuff...:shake:
LMAO mike to me that wrap there in those colors is just a routine wrap. i literally did dozens of those color builds in the 80's the only difference between them and this is the jtob LOL

nope, need to go with you or Cattle Boats
:-) Well, Tim, my old arthritic hands will just NOT do those olive branches, I loose the threads...I can't maintain the tension and well, maybe with three hands!!:D:rolleyes: Anyway.. 60 olive branches on a rod is not simple to me... but very nice! Beautiful bright colors, love this SIMPLE wrap of yours. Great!!

hey i can relate with the sore fingers thing ive been having a lot of pain lately in mine too. i do the jtob a bit different than what most do. since most of my work is simply not done on a machine i do them all at once instead of turning the rod slowly on a machine i just hold the main thread tight and wrap the leaf thread around it however many times i think the blank diameter will need to look right then wrap it around all at once. seems to work ok. and honestly it goes a bit faster too.

as for back in the day with those colors i usually did a variant of the st johns cross between the base guides also in the yellow orange red maroon colors. the picture framed it with red orange and yellow usually
