California proposes bill that may punish oil companies for high gas prices

A bill to punish oil companies for profiting from price spikes at the pump has passed the California Senate.

Well… Sounds like another stall tactic. How many can they pull?

If taxes on producers goes up they’ll have less incentive to sell in CA, reducing supply, which will drive prices up… opposite of their stated goal.

the gas companies will just pass the increase off to us, that have to pay for their own gas.

How about proposing a bill that lowers the TAXES that they put on gasoline? I bet that suggestion got a giggle out of these s.

Why do we even pay tax on gasoline?We already paid tax on our income and then we go to the gas station and get taxed again?Then the grocery store,Yep taxed again etc etc,How many times can they tax the same dollar?
Vote the politicians that support these taxes out and make them use common sense with the payroll taxes we give them,fuck their private jets and trains to nowhere.
